All of these resources are not just fun, but FREE! Download and utilise as many as you like. Print out a wadge and have them to hand. When you have a spare 5 minutes at the end of a lesson or you need an activity to get a student refocused, they might just be a lifesaver. Or if digital is more your style, bring up the activity on your computer, laptop, tablet or phone. You could email activities to students, share a link or send them to our site to have a browse and select some activities themselves.
We highly recommend having a whiteboard in your piano studio, all of these games can be easily drawn on a whiteboard and you can have lots of fun making up your own variations.
The resources are categorised to find the appropriate level of difficulty required and lots of the worksheets include notation introduced and explained as a reference for students.
These categories are an approximation, you know your students best and will be able to judge which is the appropriate level of difficulty for them.
Here at the Academy, we try to make our games progressive, so that students can do the same activity many times through their journey but gradually increase the difficulty. It not only is easier for you as you can reuse and recycle the activity for lots of different students, but also from their point of view, they will see their own improvement as they tackle harder versions of the game.
